 | harvest festival - 40th time
In these days of mechanized farming, customs tend to die out unless every effort is made to keep them alive. In 2010 the Harvest Festival turns 40! It is the oldest annual folk celebration which has been held in Ile de France without any interruption for forty years. The organizers have chosen as its theme “40 years of celebrations is something to celebrate!” The festival is a unique event because it takes place in the city streets, as it did in olden days.
In the programme: parade of wheat-decorated floats, folk dancing and old-style threshing, jazz muusic, funfair, etc.

 | medieval banquet in the taverne des oubliées
In one of the largest lower room of Provins, from the 12th century, included in France's National Inventory of Historical Monuments, you will find a real medieval banquet.
You will eat medieval specialities and drink some "hypocras", a medieval wine.
Between each meal, storytellers, troubadours, performers, fire spitters, comedians, dancers, jesters, magicians take you in a festive mood!

| Guided tour: "Provins, WORLD HERITAGE"
This guided walk of the fortified city emphasises the history of Provins and offers a very good overview of its rich heritage.
The tour starts at Saint Jean’s door, it takes you through Porte de Jouy, Place du Châtel, and then to Caesar's Tower, a symbol of the power of the Counts of Champagne from which you will be able to admire Provins and its surroundings

 | the provins rose garden New: garden of "simples", medieval plants with medicinal virtues .
At feet of monuments, you will find a quiet and charming place: a rose garden covering 3,5 hectares. In a bucolic atmosphere, you will learn about the story of this emblematic flower, its colors, shapes, scents, and its virtues. You will know everything there is about old roses - Rosa Gallica (roses of Provins), Rosa Damascena, Rosa Alba, Rosa Centifolia, hybrid tea roses - and modern roses which flower until autumn.

The Provins Tourist Train takes you through the medieval town with a recorded commentary about the history and the main monuments of Provins (French and English).
Numerous stops. The whole tour lasts 30 min.
The ticket is available for all day round.
Practical info: The Tourist Train works until 1st November 2010. From 1st to 27th August: daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. (except from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.). On 7th August until 5 p.m. No Tourist Train on 28th, 29th, 30th & 31st August.
No contractual information and may be modified.

| Arkhangaï, horsemen of the Steppes
Travel with Marco Polo through Mongolia. He described the lifestyle of these expert horsemen and the exceptional bond that existed between horse and rider.
A stable of 12 magnificent horses wait for you to share this meeting! Cavalcades, trick riding, liberty horses, caprioles and dressage can all be admired during this unforgettable show in the Residence of the Knights Templar!
After the show, visit the exhibition about equestrian falconry in the beautiful lower rooms of this listed Historical Monument (12th and 13th centuries): paintings, traditional equipment and accessories, a collection of falcon hoods… Shop. Do not miss to visit a traditional yurt, where a tea will be offered.

| the eAgles of the ramparts
Through the legend of “Bavon the Falconer”, a great 7th century huntsman, discover the wonderful birds of prey, presented in perfect harmony with horses, wolves and a dromedary. Eagles, hawks, falcons, owls and vultures are your introduction to the world of Falconry.
The tales told here are an unforgettable experience for young and old alike. After the show, visit the bird’s aviary and shop.

Where equestrian art mixes with magic in the shadows of the centuries-old ramparts.
Big festivities are given to celebrate Thibaud IV’s return of crusades. Cavalcades, trick riding, dressage and juggling acts transport you into a world of knights and princesses.
But the Earl must fight the terrible Torvark and his wolves, warriors and redoubtable medieval siege engines! A great show full of horsemanship and jousts at full gallop! Our magnificent iberian horses, in perfect harmony with their riders, will make you share our passion by realizing difficult dance steps and the most crazy caprioles.
Wolves, dromedary and numerous farm animals will contribute to this unforgettable show.

It is a farm in service at only 10 km far away from Provins. You can discover farmer's occupations give to eat and stroke animals: rabbits, sheeps, chicks, cows, pigs and all sort of palmipeds. Numerous workshops complete the visit like how to prepare bread or how to shear a sheep, etc.

| PROVINS BY CANDLELIGHT
Enchantment, Emotion, Discovery… An exceptional evening to visit Provins in an unusual and magic way! Streets, shops, monuments, squares will sparkle brilliantly. Animations in the streets and show on the Place Saint-Quiriace with the "R’Mon Temps": juggling acts with fire, long legs, etc.
The guided tour: a special theme tour to allow to discover Provins in a new light, sometimes giving access to sites normally closed to the public.
The Caesar's Tower will be illuminated by more than 700 candles with music.
Place du Châtel & Place Saint-Ayoul : terraces, restaurants and shops open late with music.

Evening show “Fire horse hair" ("Crins de feu”) produced by Equestrio, in the shadows of the centuries-old-ramparts, close to the Saint-Jean gate: Our horses will appear in the candlelight, full of charm and poetry, and always amazing.
