Christmas in Provins

On 9 and 10 December, and throughout the month of December, Provins town council, the Tourist Office, shopkeepers and a host of associations are putting on a programme of traditional and unusual activities!

The squares and streets of the medieval town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will also be alive with Christmas lights and atmosphere!

> Large and lively medieval market with activities, fire shows, encampments, medieval ball, games and initiations, in the heart of the upper town.
- Saturday 9 December from 11 am to 10 pm
- Sunday 10 December from 10 am to 6 pm
Free admission.

> Saint-François live cot with over 50 volunteer actors and animals in the splendid collegiate church of Saint-Quiriace.
- Saturday 9 December at 2 pm, 3.15 pm, 4.30 pm and 5.45 pm
- Sunday 10 December at 2.30 pm, 4 pm and 5.30 pm
- Place Saint-Quiriace.
Free admission.

> Farmers' market at the Ferme du Châtel, offering a wide range of products from the Brie Champenoise region, with axe throwing and a sheltered snack bar.
- Saturday 9 December from 10 am to 8 pm
- Sunday 10 December from 10 am to 6 pm
- Place: 5 rue Saint-Jean.
Free admission, except for axe throwing.

> Traditional Christmas market offering gourmet specialities, mulled wine, jewellery and decorative items.

> The Provins rose Garden
Visitors and regular visitors to these remarkable places can warm up by the fire, enjoy a hot drink, choose the first Christmas roses and end-of-year gifts in the charming boutique.
- In December, from Tuesday to Friday from 2 pm to 6 pm - from Saturday to Monday from 10 am to 6 pm.
Closed on 25 December.
- Place: 11 rue des Prés.
Free admission, except to visit the garden:4,5 € - free for children under 12.

> 420 m2 natural ice skating rink
Put on your skates and come and slide on the open-air rink, set up on the forecourt of the Saint-Ayoul cultural and sports centre.
- Daily from 8 December to 7 January: complete schedules available soon.
Saturday evenings until 9 pm.
- Prices: adult 6 € - child under 12 years old 5 €
Skate hire included.

> Great show on the ice skating rink with Philippe Candeloro
Discover the "CANDELORO SHOW COMPANY", magnificent performance of around ten scenes with France's favourite skater and double Olympic medallist!
- Wednesday 13 December at 7 pm.

> Santa Claus Steam Train
Let Santa take you on a journey back in time on a steam locomotive followed by his historic train (1910-1930)! Pancakes and hot drinks for sale on the train.
Round trip Longueville / Romilly-sur-Seine / Longueville.
- Rendez-vous at the SNCF train station of Longueville, close to Provins.
- Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 December: departure at 1.30 pm, back around 5 pm
- Prices: adult 30 € - child (6-11 years old) 15 €.
Free for children under 6 limit of 1 free seat for a full ticket.
- Booking compulsory: registration form available for visuals (only in French).
