JEP - AJECTA

Founded in 1968 by the Association of Young People for the Maintenance and Preservation of Vintage Trains (AJECTA), this museum is the second largest railway museum in France in terms of historical equipment.

Without the volunteers of AJECTA, the roundhouse would have been demolished and the steam locomotives sent to the scrapyard.

Now listed as a national monument, it houses around ten steam locomotives, seven of which are protected, as well as meticulously maintained rolling stock.

For over 50 years, these enthusiasts have been recovering, renovating, and lovingly preserving each carriage and locomotive, tracing the evolution of the French railway since 1866.

Among the museum's treasures are the oldest signal box in France, a luggage carriage from the Orient Express, and a dining car from the legendary Train Bleu, where visitors can still dine on rare occasions.

- Tour of the roundhouse and locomotives: Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (€5 for adults and free for under 18s). Tour included with steam train ticket purchase.

Longueville Railway Roundhouse: Steam locomotives, carriages, and wagons. Presentation by the association's volunteers of the heritage and restoration projects. Railway exhibition with around twenty exhibitors.

- Longueville/Provins Steam Train: Saturday and Sunday. Departures at 10:15 AM, 1:15 PM, and 3:15 PM. Journey time: 1 hour. Prices from €8 to €15.

Special service between the Longueville depot and Provins station. A trip on the historic train, a 1920s passenger car, pulled by a 1916 steam locomotive.
