About
Come and discover this unique exhibition, celebrating the friendship and 20 years of twinning between Provins and Pingyao!
Both cities are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and are renowned for their vibrant cultural tourism!
On the theme of the ‘Crossroads of Views’, you can discover ink paintings of Provins by Chinese artist Wang Ying, and photographs of Pingyao by French artist Michèle Schembri.
Wang Ying, painter and diplomat, visited Provins in 2022.
While posted in Paris, he came to see the Harvest Festival. Several paintings were created from this experience, which made a huge impression on him.
Michèle Schembri discovered Pingyao in 2024, when she visited Shanxi province for an exhibition of her work in Tayuan.
She took touching photographs of her encounter with the town and its inhabitants.
This original exhibition is a harmonious pairing of artists, combining the visions of a man, a woman, a Chinese man and a French woman, French people in ink on paper, Chinese people photographed in moments of life...
