As part of the 20th anniversary of the inscription of Provins on the World Heritage List, the municipality of Provins invites you to a big event with lights!
After more than 3 decades of effort by the city of Provins, the restoration of the ramparts is coming to a successful end...
And to mark this important moment, you are invited to their lighting and to a fireworks display offered by the municipality!
The ramparts of Provins were built between the 11th and 13th centuries, mainly under Thibaut IV. They are 25 m high and were 5 km long at the time.
Today, you can still admire 1.2 km of them!
A well-deserved highlight for this unique heritage, coming from projectors installed in the banks, equipped with an adapted protection system.
The homogeneous light will be white, coloured and dynamic, thanks to a sophisticated management system.
The Porte Saint-Jean and the Porte de Jouy will be illuminated by recessed spotlights with static light and warm colour temperature.
A total of 129 spotlights will enhance these fortified walls and gates with their thousand-year-old history!
